The anticipations is stressing me out so much more than any video game should. 7 weeks ago, I told myself and my guild that I would be playing a lot less so I could focus on my schoolwork, but I broke that promise to myself. 3.0 had the exact opposite effect on us that it had on most guilds. We have been raiding almost constantly. It also piqued my boyfriend’s interest in the game all over again. He’s so thrilled with the addition of the achievement system that he’s been in-game even more than I have been. It’s been hard to get my work done with him sitting on his computer right next to me running heroics like a madman. As a consequence, my grades are continuing to slip, and I’m having a hard time catching back up. It’s a really bad thing. I’m 21 years old, living 400 miles away from home, living and going to school with my boyfriend. I’m working on my Bachelor’s Degree in Web Development, which is going to cost me a lot more than any education should. I can’t really afford to fail any classes. So naturally I’m really anticipating the expansion. I’m just worried that it’s going to turn into a power grind to 80 so I can get a top spot in Naxx. I really want a 10-man raid with my guild leader because I want a no-bullsht, down to business group that will take the fewest amount of hours per week to clear content. But at the same time, I don’t want to get pulled back in to raiding 20 hours a week, and taking up my entire weekends. Sorry about the rant. In case youre wondering, the WOW Official Guides sold in the stores wont give you game mastery. Why? Well, Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind World of Warcraft publishes these WOW Official Guides.

This is important to understand because their business model is to keep you playing, month after month after month. The longer they keep you playing, endlessly grinding, doing instances and wandering around the more money they make because itll take you longer to level.

Basally… 1. If you want to level fast, level as a DPS sp. Enhaement islearly the better DPS sp at first. At level ~39 elemental is an option but still not better than Enh. At level 60+ after you grab all the early Outlands +dmg gear, I felt Elemental was better at questingleveling than my buddies who wentstayed Enhaement, but both sps are viable. 2. As offsp youan still mainheal anything up til instaes. cumulate a sond set of healing gear while levelinginstaing. 3. Google “Joana’s leveling guide” for extremely detailed dertions of whh zonesquests to take for optimal XP generation. Many other leveling guides exist, and I have nolue if Joana’s is the best. It’s merely the one that sprung to mind sie someone mentioned it rently. 4. Nearly every instae has upgrades for you. Wowheadom is my preferred site for using filters to seah gear. “2h Weapons” (or “Mail”)ombined with “Found in Any Instae”ombined with a “required level” spread near your own (24-30) will provide eellent DPS upgrade options. Maximize Str, AP, andrit to maximize your leveling speed (generally in that order). As a shaman myself i’ll say IMO you should resp Enhae till 70 and then go Resto. That’s just what i did but going ele at 60 may not be bad, but idk bause i’ve nvr lvled as ele. Thoughhain lightning is fun to use . Ihanged from EleResto to full Resto at 40, thats when I saw the most demand for healers and when I got tired of saying I wasn’t one. You will lk denthain gear for +heal til your 50′s in BRD, so I would base the desion on your server but resp at 5860 for the Outlands gear. Unless your gonna save up some healing gear, I wouldhange sooner. I guess I am somewhat of a regular now. Haven’t been in Beta or the PTR… still trying to get my first and only 70 to get Kara on farm and see some moreontent (ZA, Gruul’s, Mag’s, maybe a little S) before WOTLKomes out. Most of the time I find a healer it’s a shadow priest that is willing to resp for the group (even though most refuse to and will only play as shadow) or it’s a shaman. With the addition of DKs, tanks are plentiful. tually, there are so many people wanting to be tanks, it has let me dps as a DK more often than I expted to. I’ve been willing to resp and tank, but in mostases I haven’t needed to. I have waited upwards of 20-30 minutes for a healer when it only took me about 20 sonds to get a tank and 3 dps.

Belt of Blasting is a must now, with the availability of vortexes. If the mob has some ability that requires me to fe it away from the group then I do that. If the mob has a knkbk then I usually position myself with my bk to a wall. If the mob has no other spial requirements, I position myself where Ian see the otherC mobs. Melee DPS is responsible for their own positioning though I do try to remain stationary if possible when working with melee DPS.I DPS on nights when we don’t need my tank, and I feel that it is my job as a dps to position myself behind the mob anytime possible. The tank has WAY more things to worry about than me as a lowly mele dps, so I try to make hisher job as easy as possible. And it is not by any streh of the imagination hard to get behind a mob. I feel that a better help for the dps is to, when possible, remain relatively stationary. I play arms dps and when the tank moves for mo reason other than boredom or some inane obsession with pushing buttons, and it pulls him out of range of my slam, itan be a little frustrating(yes it has happened and the tank, when asked, said “Don’t know, I was bored of standing there”) It doesn’t matter where you tank the mobs as long as you have some smart melee dps and understand that dps’ing behind the mob will rede thehae of Parry and Dodge effts thus ireasing overall dps. You will have tanks that want to turn the mob and others that don’t reallyare where the mob is tanked or what kind of position it’s in. If the mob has an AoE attk, sure fe the mob away from the group, if not..whoares right?

it also breaks down into pve sp – 1744 and pvp sp is with MSHi, Well im 69, and hopefully going to be 70 by the end of the week. And I have 3 other guys one at 68, BM hunter and 2 70 paladins, 1 holy 1 ret. And me prot warrior. We’re probably going to get a random mage for the 5 party member and forC. Although im not quite sure what I need to be able to tank heris. Atm the armory is done for me and Iant cess it. Thanks for any replies~ I would rommend not doing Heros for a while. Run at least all of the 70′s instaes at least a few times for gear..e. You’ve probably seen the many stories from Warriors here talking about how many times it took them to get the “Bold” shoulders for Shadowlabs, or the shield from Botana. Your healer is going to need a large mana pool and higher healing stats than they would need for a regular 70′s instae. You’re DPS is going to need some gear upgrades to be able to down the trash mobs on the way to the boss. I ran Hero Slave Pens a few nights ago for the Daily quest and the hardest part of the run were the mob pulls on the way to the boss. Some of those guys where hitting like a trk. Later in the instae quite a few of them are immune toC. IMO if you try to enter the Heros right away your group of “new” 70′s will just be wasting their time. Time better spent in regular runs getting gear to prepare for the Heros. These are what my stats look like by the way to give you an example of how hard they are. unbuffed ~13k hp ~14k Armor 17% Dodge 18% Parry 18% Blk 515 Def.
