Groar what you say is true in big enough situations… but 3v3 and 2v2 (espially) the whole “lower surviveability than frost due to the lk ofold snap and e barrier” is true to a mh greater degree. With the general addition of e Blk, it is true that all mages have some form of survivability boost (mostly for knking off debuffsDoTs), but e still drastally outlasts oe engaged. And after SPriests and Warlks, Mages are the first to get targetted – obnoxious Mages even before. Why do you think so many Warlks have moved over to SLSL — ALL that build is meant to do is last longer – a good 20-25% at that – but it’s a nasty hit to efftiveness in PVP sie they no longeran put quite the pressure on their enemies (no SBurn, no IHoT, no UA, no Shadowfury, noastthrough, and bad +damage.) Something similaran be said about e — but there is definatly a reason to sp into it. Sure your damage may drop a good peent, but as Warlks qukly learn it’s better to do less DPS and stay alive longer on a general ope. Espially when MagesLks are in the same boat in a lot ofC options. Even with some of the renthanges (eblk namely) the efftiveness of e in low numberombatSpellbattles still dominates over Aane or Fire. I’ve been fire for a while now. Initially, I resisted getting DB bause it looked weak to me, espially for a 41 pt talent. However, I finally dided to get it and try it out and I’ve been very pleased with it. First of all, I do not PvP at all, so Iannot address what seem to be very legitimate issuesoerning the viability of this talent in PvP. Ian speak to my personal use of this talent in PvE though. Initially, I will note that the spell is veryost efftiveompared to our other AoE options. I use it in two situations: first, I use this spell in normal AoE situations with the following rotation: I run up next to the mob andast Flame Strike —-> Frost Nova —–> (Bk up)—-> Flame Strike —–> (Nova Breaks) —–> Dragon’s Breath —–> Blast Wave —–> (If not dead) —–> AE —-> AE —-> e Blk I like it bause it is another fire AoE spell and isapable of arit,ausing ignites. The other time I use it is in an OH SH#@ situation. It is basally the same rotation as above, eept without the Flame Strikes. Still dishes out quite a bit of damage. Therital thing that the DB provides is the 2 s delay that is needed to live through the globalooldown on Blast Wave. Oe Blast Wave goes off, youan blink away and put down some good distae while Novaools down. Otherwise, I found myself dying as 5-6 mobs hit me while I was waiting in Globalooldown. Dunno, some food for thought.
